Brittney Griner is known as a trailblazer, activist, two-time Olympic gold medallist, and seven-time Women’s National Basketball Association All-Star. But, more recently, her life and career have been put at risk after being used as a political pawn between Russia and the US.
Brittney has been wrongfully detained in Russia for months, following her arrest for cannabis possession at Moscow’s Sheremetyevo airport in February, after police allegedly found two vape cartridges of hashish oil in her luggage. Then, last month, she was sentenced to nine years in a Russian prison.
