Where it all started. Fred’s first foray into tennis wear was not our ubiquitous polo shirt, but the humble sweatband. Inspired by his Wimbledon days, when Fred would play with a piece of gauze wrapped around his wrist, he teamed up with textile-expert Tibby Wegner to design something stylish and practical that would stop sweat from loosening a player’s grip. Adopted by sports players and musicians alike, the sweatband is the start of the Fred Perry story. A symbol of achievement and passion; sacrifice and triumph. A sign of being absolutely dedicated.
