When I reflect on my favorite moments in Yosemite National Park, many of them involve staring at this large rock…and standing on top of it too! . That’s right, I day hiked all the way up to the top of El Capitan. 20 miles that day. 5,000 elevation gained. I didn’t cheat like that Alex Honnold guy who conveniently took the short way up the side of El Capitan. I hiked up carrying a heavy day pack, and he was too lazy to even carry ropes up during this climb. .
