Its always amazing to share the same space with this QUEEN! We love you @cocoem__ !!!!!! 💓💓💓💓🥰🥰😍😍
We are blessed that regardless of how busy this world class, superstar DJ, producer and film maker has been, trotting the Globe, the Queen of the Decks spared some time to come through and personified this tribe, for another #OurVersionOfBeauty Shoot!
Can you guess which tribe it is???
#Wodaabetribe! This look is inspired by the beauty looks of their #Gerewol festival during which men put on makeup, dress up and perform dances to attract a wife.
Gem like trinklets, and manipulated bent brass wire were used to recreate the #Wodaabebeautylooks that the tribes men create at the festival. They use black eyeliner made from charred bones to line their eyes and also their lips to accentuate the white of their eyes and teeth! Well who doesn't like a black lip and a reverse smokey cat eye for a bit of a contemporary edge?

P.S. We could not mention the wodaabe people with out mentioning that a call for help was put out for the Wodaabe People, since the start of Covid 19 as markets where they trade their cattle were closed. We are unaware of how this has progressed however we do know from a follow up call out that was put out just a month ago, that the Wodaabe have been facing more difficulty due to the lack of rain. Along with this post, we would like to take the time to highlight this. Please visit @africanceremonies page to find out more how we can help!
