It’s Monday morning and I think it’s hot all over the world. With only five or 10% in the UK and many other European countries having air conditioning, you need something to make you feel cooler and more relaxed. When you have a room that’s somewhat maximalist like this one, what do you do? If you don’t have time to redo the room in a bit more organized fashion, calling attention to some beautiful flowers can’t hurt. This is an example of adding fresh flowers that are colorful to a room that is interesting, but a bit “busy.” There’s an English bamboo chair that’s decorated, volumes and volumes of books in the bookshelves, and even lusterware and other English pottery pitchers above the doorway frame.
It also has a nice, late, original finish 18th century George III tilt top table with a turned pedestal and cabriole legs. But no matter which direction you’re looking in this room your eye is going to be drawn to the flowers which are nasturtiums in a rich, reddish – orange color. This is a good example of how using flowers and house plants can cover up weak areas in a room, or they can enhance the whole look of the whole room by calling one’s attention to them, as in this case. It might even help you forget about the heat As usual, masterfully arranged by Sean Anthony Pritchard, garden and landscape designer in the UK.
