It's all or nothing. Black or white. Good or bad. Nothing in between is acceptable.
We want to feel absolutely ready before taking on challenges, and if we don't think we're ready to do it perfectly, we procrastinate... and sometimes miss out on opportunities.
Sound familiar? Then take heart and know this:
✔️ Most people don't excel in anything the first time.
✔️ You can polish and perfect your project at a later stage.
✔️ Good enough is not synonymous with low achievement.
✔️ Making mistakes is the only way to progress.
Overcoming perfectionism and the fear of failure may take a little time and practice, but the next time you're afraid to embark on a new project, ask yourself:
👉 Is this a process I will enjoy regardless of the outcome? What can I do to enjoy it?
👉 Does it seem too complicated?
How can I simplify it?
👉 Am I doing this for myself or for someone else?
👉 Do I have a good enough reason for doing this project?
👉 Are my standards too high? How can I lower them?
👉 What is the minimum result I can accept?
Have the courage to be imperfect, because imperfection is indeed perfection in its truest form 🖤
