Very excited to reveal the artist exchange between @madeby.yamine and @adaptacion_ ❤️ The project is based on memories, love and things that inspire both myself and Michaela. One of the most difficult things to deal with after losing someone close to you is deciding on what to do with their belongings. I had a beautiful single pillow case that belonged to my mum, as well as some of her hand towels and was inspired to reach out to Michaela to recycle them into useable everyday wash and travel bags. Michaela @adaptacion_ is a very talented seamstress who up-cycles leftover and vintage fabrics into exquisitely unique clothes and home decor. Following her account and the progress on each of her projects is a reminder to us all that art is a powerful healing tool to help you navigate through the darkest of traumas and that you can create art out of anything. In return I custom made Michaela and her son, Ezra, two mugs 🥰 I used the pinch pot technique to hand sculpt them, each unique in style with a semi-matte glaze finish. They are crafted using stoneware clay and are food safe. Noting that Ezra loved birds, I decided to hand glaze a blue tit for him as they symbolise love, hope and faithfulness.
