قرقيعان. Gurgai’an
On the 15th of Ramadan, The Prophet welcomed the first of his Grandchildren Hassan. Yearly, many countries celebrate this day which originated from: “قرة عين" the welcome of a newborn. Sweets, coins and gifts are given out to everyone passing. Grandparents stand outside their decorated homes and a lot of kids in traditional clothing visit homes in their neighbourhood. This event is mostly celebrated by the GCC countries. How do you celebrate Gurgai’an? And what do you call it?
