Did you know that Brian Jones was a multi-instrumentalist and founded the Rolling Stones in 1962, naming the group after Muddy Water’s song Rollin’ Stone. A nod to one of the major influences in their lives. The Rolling Stones would soon evolve into Rock ‘N’ Roll innovators, experimenting along the way blending genres.
During their years of experimentation, Jones and fellow guitarist Richards developed a unique style of playing which Richards refers to as the “ancient art of weaving” in which both players would play rhythm and lead parts together. However, for any musicians you may also know the technical term as playing in unison.
What’s your favourite track with Brian Jones playing? Mine has to be Paint it Black (1966), the Sitar just adds such a distinctive layer.🔥🎶👌🏽
