Excited to be working with @georgefinlayramsay & Nathan Gibson, on a lyrical documentary exploring myths and volcanoes in the remote Russian peninsula of Kamchatka. Focusing on the folklore, legends and the endangered language of the Itelmen people, centering around the legend of Elvel where a woman turns into a volcano. We’ll be working with local academics, geographers, researchers and artists, with close involvement of the local people. Fingers crossed for Russia 2021 🌋 Still from George’s previous film Book of Regrets, also filmed in Kamchatka, where he tried to throw a book of regrets into a volcano 💥
