Working for Ron during his heydays...mid '70's to mid '80's was a blast! I managed his office, which meant "typing" invoices and mailing them "snail" mail, along with answering the "landline" phone which rang incessantly. The majority of phone calls were from editors looking for photos of whichever celebrities were "hot" at that time. We would locate the celebs' box, leaf through it to find the type of photos the editors were looking for and then they were "hand" delivered either that day or the next in the city. Otherwise the 8x10 selected prints were mailed. We also received tips from fans and PR regarding upcoming events. I organized Ron's daily calendar by reading tips in the NY Post, NY Daily News and the Celebrity Bulletin. Calling PR to arrange an invite also happened daily.
AND, as Ron's OWN star rose so did his acceptance into the PR/celebrity world.
I was a huge Mick Jagger fan. Anytime Mick and/or the Stones were in town I would sit by Ron's side in the paparazzi mobile headed toward NYC in search of my favorite superstar. In the late '70's Ron & I caught Mick outside the Carlyle Hotel. Ron snapped a few shots of me and Mick!!! I was over the moon. When I got home I excitedly called my mom and told her I saw Mick Jagger!!!! Mick Jagger!!! I had a photo snapped with him by the paparazzo extraordinaire himself!!! It was a dream come true and I am forever grateful to Ron for providing the most thrilling work experience ever!
Mick turns 79 today.
