The underwater eruption of Hunga Tonga-Hunga Ha'apai volcano in January released a record amount of water into the Earth's atmosphere, NASA scientists said. The eruption expelled 146 teragrams of water vapour into the stratosphere that's nearly 10% of the water already present there.
