During a speech in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, the U.S. president made a "passionate plea" on Tuesday to ban such weapons, The Hill reports. He cited the school shooting in Uvalde, Texas, where an 18-year-old killed 19 students and two teachers in May, to urge Congress to legislate on the matter. "It's time to hold all elected officials accountable and ask them if they support an assault weapons ban.
