Maria Sale is earning her master’s degree in bioengineering from the University of Auckland. @universityofauckland She works in the Biomedical Research and Environmental Sciences Division, as part of the Anthropometry and Biomechanics Facility (ABF) team.
The aim of her team's research is to understand and reduce the injury risk to astronauts and ensure the successful completion of the mission. Her internship is focused on biomechanical modeling of astronauts in spacesuits. She spends most of her time writing software to model human movement in the space environment. She’s creating new tools that stakeholders across NASA can leverage in future mission planning and analysis. She loves that her job allows her to combine her strengths and interests and loves getting to work with her passionate and intelligent co-workers. #nasa#nasainterns#biomechanics#womeninstem
