In 2009-10, Sun Chips introduced a 100% compostable chip packet made of polylactide. Great! Just one problem: it was too loud. Customers complained but were accused of overreacting. However, when tested, the packet made noise over 95dB, as loud as a jackhammer 20m away - loud enough to cause hearing damage after prolonged exposure.
