🇬🇧 [Different content in french ! Voir les commentaires] On November, 11th, in 2011 was finally released the greatest ghost album of all of times, which may also appears as the best ever pop album : Smile by the #beachboys, witch was recorded circa 1966-1967 by #brianwilson and the #wreckingcrew but had never been released. We could celebrate this anniversary today with the quite complete sessions box released by Capitol in 2011, but in fact the real anniversary is this one : 20 years ago Sea of Tunes released this bootleg CD, issued from a collection of 20 CDs featuring complete rare sessions of all albums from 1961 to 1970. That collection was titled #unsurpassedmasters. A grail for #beachboysfans ! It was a very serious issue, documented, with a very interesting booklet, with many photos from this era. This CD features a final mix of this unreleased album made with the contents of the two previous CD of the unsurpassed collection. This mix is very different from the official mix released 12 years later by Capitol. The material the bootleggers used was not the same : the album was recorded in 5 different studios and bootleggers used tracks and sessions which have been not used by Brian Wilson in 2011. Finally, even if some vocal tracks are missing in this mix, even if the track listing is very different (this one ends with « Surf’Up » and features the other session of « Child is Father Of The Man), even if fadings and crossfadings are better in the official mix, this one 1° WAS THE FIRST ONE ! and 2° IS STEREOPHONIC, even QUADRIPHONIC while the Capitol one is MONO ! THAT IS THE REAL « Full Dimension Sound » mentioned on the original cover !
