Once thought to be the same species as Lau banded iguanas, research and analysis in 2008 determined that Fiji banded iguanas like this one are actually their own species. Found only on the Fijian islands, these lizards spend most of their time in the trees where they can easily forage for leaves, flowers, and fruit.
