Scotland Fix of the Day: Melrose Abbey has to be one of the most peaceful retreats of the Borders Abbeys Way in Scotland. Besides that, Robert the Bruce's heart is buried here, lending poignant romance to the telling of the sad Reformation story of dissolution. Of course all the ruined abbeys are worth the journey and while they aren't neglected they hardly get on everyone's bucket list like the Highlands or the Isle of Skye.
