Sometimes, the best way to observe marine life isn't from the sea, but from the sky!
On Monday, our SharkWatch surveys reported 27 Nurse sharks at one site!
These mass gatherings are called aggregations and other marine animals like groupers and snappers also form these groups for the purpose of reproduction.
By using drones to conduct these surveys from the air, we're able to observe these Nurse shark aggregations without disturbing the reproductive process that's so important for the long-term sustainability of their populations.
