The Helix Nebula The Helix Nebula is one of brightest and closest planetary nebula which is about about 700 light-years away towards the constellation of the Water Bearer (Aquarius). It is basically a gas cloud created after the end of Sun-like star. The nebula is about 2.5 lightyears across. Gases in the outer parts of the star was discharged into the space which create a helix like image. The remnant core star will turn into a white dwarf.
