What I first noticed about Greg, other than his V shaped physique - I was a sucker for tall & broad - was his gentle goodness.
He oozed respect for those around him, he honoured his parents and he was consistent.
As I got to know him more, I saw his character spill over into his workmanship - everything he did, he did it with excellence.
When we first started dating, he gave me flowers - I’ve got to admit, I was embarrassed .. I had never received flowers before .. but to this day he still gives me flowers.
When we raised our daughters, I got a glimpse into what a healthy father-daughter relationship looked like.
He always works hard at home, tends to the garden, maintains the outside of our home, builds stuff for me and cleans the house with me every time.
On our foodie retreats, he becomes my sous chef/dishy and keeps everything flowing.
When I have a wild idea, he sheepishly comes along for the wild ride!
During the last decade, we’ve really mastered this ‘we’re on the same team’ thing! We’ve entered into that ‘flow’ and together we tackle life overcoming obstacles we face.
It takes years to get to where we are today - there’s been frustration, disappointments, tears, arguments, confusion, stupidity and selfishness but through it all we’ve learnt to appreciate each others strengths and weaknesses, we’ve learnt to value each other for who we are and we’ve learnt the best part of our marriage comes from above.
Today marks 38 years since we gave our YES to each other and may we enjoy double portion of the goodness of God for the next 38 years!
Happy Anniversary to us!
