MODELER:
- Echoes the wearer's form.
- Translates mathematical precision into crafted fluidity.
- Is the modeling gesture.
Creating an accurate pattern is the starting point for every tailored Hermès garment. After listening to the customer's wishes, the tailor takes measurements, then models the construction base of the piece according to the client’s unique form, tracing the pattern on paper before cutting it, then making it in the chosen fabric. After developing this pattern, the tailor "detaches" the piece, that is, they cut the various sections of the pattern into the actual fabric, taking care to join up each line of the design. They then assemble the garment, conduct successive fittings, and make final adjustments so that the piece meets both the customer's expectations and Hermès' quality criteria.
