Gärna Gallery is pleased to announce the 2nd edition of its JOY group show, presenting works by Albert
Pinya, Ana Pavón, Eric Stefanski, Fernando de Ana, Florent Stosskopf, Luca Bjørnsten, MRM, Pablo
Linsambarth, Pepo Moreno and Roberta Lobeira.
Over two years have passed since the beginning of the pandemic, prompting a reevaluation of the things
that really matter and a renewed appreciation of the healing power of nature and the importance of
cultivating our inner peace and optimism during difficult times. This has become even more relevant
due to recent events, provoked by a new war that has challenged the harmony and peace acquired
during last decades in Europe, creating economic instability and fear.
Based on acclaimed youth poetess Amanda Gorman ́s “Call us what we carry” collection, JOY II
celebrates a period of new life, growth, and a moment of reflection about the state of the world and our
lives personally. It is meditative, sorrowful, and optimistic all at once.
At Gärna Gallery we consider all endings bring beginnings. Everything is a cycle and there is a whisper of
rebirth even at the very moment of loss. The selection of works in this proposal is fearless and vibrant, a
reflection of a spiritual awakening, a renaissance in creative output born out of difficult times that has
challenged our society but also, it has offered the opportunity to create fresh starts.
Here’s to all the birds who escape their cages and sing.
