These remarkable succulent trees are a symbol of the resilience of nature because they have evolved to cope with harsh conditions. But now they are also a symbol of a changing Earth because they are hit hard by climate change. This is one of the key images in our LIFE symphony, which features the music of Philip Glass and the imagery of Frans Lanting. LIFE celebrates the splendor of life on Earth and its miraculous evolution from the Big Bang to the present. In honor of Earth Day, we’re announcing a new performance of this multimedia experience.
