It is no exaggeration to say that Kolona Beach in Kythnos is one of the most beautiful spots in the whole Cyclades complex. 😍 Kolona beach is located in the cove of the same name, in the northwestern part of Kythnos island and opposite to the equally beautiful beach of Apokrusis. Although the access is via a relatively difficult path, Kolona beach is so special that the visit is really worth it. Kolona beach is special due to its geomorphological specificity: it is a strip of sand which looks like a pillar creating a sandy beach, approximately 250 meters long and 80-100 meters wide, which connects the island of Kythnos with the islet of Agios Loukas. The sea washes both sides of the sand strip, resulting in two beaches with one sandbar, creating a distinct unique image, the perfect waters for a unique summer dive and the ideal scenery for your next instagram photoshoot, don't you think? 😉💙 .
