“Rap Sh!t was really scary at first,” Aida Osman, co-lead of @issarae’s new HBO Max series, tells Esquire of her first acting role. “I spent the first like two or three episodes of filming like ‘Are y'all sure? Like we could start over? Recast me and it'd be cool.’ Issa was like, ‘Girl, say the line. Shut up.’ It took me eight episodes of filming to go, ‘Wait, maybe I was the only person that could ever do Shawna and this was supposed to be this way.’”
@rapshitonmax, which follows two estranged high-school friends who reunite years later and decide to start a rap group, premieres today. Read the interview with @shutupaida by @notammal in full now at the link in bio.
