Giving you that Drag Queen Gardener Workwear! This outfit isn’t just to look glamorous though, it’s to help promote a project which is very close to my heart. I am so proud to announce that I am an ambassador for the Caterpillar Project at @doddgarden. This Project is to help turn the top level of what used to be a multi-storey car park, into a community garden for both the residents of the high story flats surrounding the garden and the people of Battersea. It is often the case that people who live in these flats or that have no access to owning a garden of their own, are overlooked by the local authorities. I mean, the Chelsea flower show is literally just across the river! Where lavish shop windows are lined up with floral displays. But what about the everyday working class people? As a working class kid and the son of a woman lorry driver. It is these projects that I would like to shine a light on going forward in my career. Just because you don’t have a growing space outside your back door, does not mean that you shouldn’t have access to one. This project may be in the the beginning stages, but let’s start recognising it and bringing conversations like this to the table. Gardening needs a shake up, and every single person simply deserves a place like this where they can grow and reap the benefits of horticulture. I am proud to say I made this fabulous outfit, big thank you @beyondretro for collaborating with me and supplying the denim I used to reconstruct into this garment.
