Happy National Drawing day! Here is a sketchbook that is almost 100 years old. It belonged to my great grandfather, Richard Alfred Brown, who must have been about 22 at the time He filled it with drawings of northern landscapes and sketches at train stations. He depicted the fashions of the time, and clearly found amusement in the characters he observed. What's funny is I religiously carry a sketchbook everywhere I go, and train stations are my absolute favourite places to draw. It amazes me that the love for art can be passed through genes without even realising!
