A few days ago, Indian author Geetanjali Shree created history. Her novel ‘Tomb of Sand’ (translated by Daisy Rockwell) won the International Booker Prize 2022 in its English translation. Originally titled ‘Ret Samadhi’, it is the first-ever work of Hindi literature to not only win, but to even be nominated for an International Booker Prize.
