Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore Music Edition
Swiss Haute Horlogerie manufacturer Audemars Piguet has put out five new Royal Oak Offshore references interpreted in 37 and 43 mm sizes and in different materials: two models in titanium, two in gemset 18-carat white gold and one in black ceramic.
With Audemars having a close connection to the music industry (such as collaboration with Quavo, Rapper from popular group “Migos”), the new Royal Oak Offshore models celebrate it: a Tapisserie dial reproducing the motifs of an equaliser, knurled-textured studs reminiscent of jack plugs and crown guards inspired by the fader on mixing consoles. Featuring a sapphire crystal curved along the 6 to 12 o’clock axis as well as enlarged bevels, these selfwinding hours, minutes and seconds models radiate a colourful, pop-style appearance.
The piece right here on the photo has a bezel covered in colorful stones. Ten colours used on an equaliser are recreated with rubies, peridots, tsavorites, green, blue and orange sapphires, which also adorn the bezels. Known as a ‘harmony cut’, the technique was developed to inject more life into fine gemstones.
The blue tapisserie background is different from the titanium models and crafted in glistening blue aventurine for an extra bit of sparkle.
