New Prime Minister Liz Truss has announced a plan which will limit energy bill rises from October in England, Scotland and Wales.
The multi-billion pound plan, which will come into effect in October, is set to last for two years.
It will see the typical energy bill for households capped at £2,500 per year. PM Truss said that these measures will save a typical household £1,000 a year and that similar measures would be introduced in Northern Ireland.
However Labour leader Keir Starmer questioned how the measures would be paid for and called for a windfall tax on the profits of energy companies.
