The glorious Crown Engine Mines sit precariously above the cliffs in Botallack. After visiting earlier in the day and exploring this amazing location, I figured the setting sun would side light the cliff faces and buildings. We went off and explored elsewhere before returning an hour before sunset. We quickly scrambled down the cliff edge and along a rather narrow pathway to a spot I scouted earlier in the day. After setting up my tripod, composing and attaching my filters I began snapping away until the sun dipped below the horizon. This particular shot is made of two exposures blended in Photoshop. One for the sky and another for the rest of the image as I don't own a graduated filter.
